DIY Guide To Cleaning And Sealing Of Polished And Unpolished Porcelain

NANO SEAL:
Tile & Floor Care Nano Seal is developed using the latest Nano-technology. It is perfectly suited to treat Nano sealed tiles and other hard, low porosity tiles. Nano Seal will not damage the natural look and features of the tile. What you see is what you get except now with extra protection.

Uses:
Nano Seal is used on Nano treated tiles and hard, low porosity surfaces that can withstand relatively heavy traffic. Nano Seal may be used on Nano porcelain, polished porcelain, marble, granite, travertine and quartzite tiles that are hard enough to not need surface protection. If you have any doubt as to suitability for your tile, please contact Tile & Floor Care for advice on 0800 00 6173.

Directions:
  1. Read all instructions and tips before the application so that you can plan the application correctly.
  2. Test for desired results in an inconspicuous area before continuing the application.
  3. Ensure that the surface is clean and free from grout, cement, oil, wax, and other stains. (Clean with the right Tile & Floor Care product if necessary.)
  4. Ensure that the tiles are totally dry before applying the sealer. (Wait ± 48 hours after cleaning.)
  5. Using a suitable applicator, apply a thin, even coat of Nano Seal. Buff any excess sealer from the surface after 5 minutes. Use a clean terry cloth, mutton cloth or paper toweling.
  6. Wait for the sealer to dry for ± 2 hours.
  7. Apply a second and a third coat if necessary.
  8. Allow to cure before trafficking. (± 12 hours)

Maintenance:
To prolong the life of the sealer only clean the floor with mild and neutral detergents like Tile & Floor Care Quick Clean. Clean spillages immediately.

Tips & Tricks:
  1. Do not use a paint roller.
  2. Use a lint free cloth or sheepskin applicator to apply Nano Seal.
  3. Do not apply while floor is still damp.
  4. Allow 2 - 4 days after laying the tile before sealing.
  5. Do not allow water on the floor for 24 hours after sealing.
  6. Do not dilute.

Cleaning and sealing of polished and unpolished Porcelain with Tile & Floor Care Products.
After laying:
During grouting make sure all excess grout is removed from the surface with a damp clean cloth or sponge and fresh clean water. Washing grout and residues off the surface with dirty water and / or cloth or spone does not clean the surface. Any grout residues will impair the finish after sealing and will result in a very expensive repair. Clean with Tile and Floor Care Grout Off & Easy Clean (neutralizer) to ensure a residue free surface.
Choosing a sealer:
When choosing a sealer, one would need to ensure that the sealer you choose will give you the desired finish e.g. matt, satin, gloss or natural with colour enhancement or not. Each sealer gives a different finish to the tile and protects the tile in a different manner. If in doubt phone Tile and Floor Care for free advise on 0800 006173 / 011 822 6901

DEEP SEAL:
Tile & Floor Care Deep Seal is a durable twin pack urethane sealer with extra stain resistance. Deep Seal penetrates and bonds with the tile thereby strengthening, sealing and protecting the tile from wear and tear. Deep Seal is suitable for low to medium porosity tiles e.g. Low porosity Terracotta, Black Slate, Marble, Granite & Porcelain. Deep Seal enhances the natural colour of the tile and dries to matt/sheen finish. Deep Seal is UV stable and may be used for interior and exterior applications. Deep Seal is pre measured so as to allow easy accurate mixing.

Directions:
  1. Read all instructions and tips before continuing the application.
  2. Mask off any adjacent surfaces that need to be protected during the application.
  3. Test for desired results in an inconspicuous area before continuing the application.
  4. Ensure that the tile is clean and free from grout, cement, oil, wax and other stains. (clean with the correct Tile & Floor Care products), and remember to neutralize if the floor has been cleaned with acid. Rinse thoroughly with clean fresh water.
  5. Ensure that the tile is totally dry before applying the sealer. (Wait approx. 48 hours after cleaning).
  6. Mix the required amount of sealer by adding 1 part B (catalyst) to 4 part A ( urethane)

  8. Wait for the coat to dry approx 2 to 4 hours.

INVISIBLE SEALER:
Invisible Sealer is an invisible clear silicone sealer that will maintain the natural look of the tile. Invisible sealer may be used on LOW POROSITY tiles only (eg: low porosity terracotta, granite, marble, travertine and porcelain), and will repel water and most oils. Invisible Sealer is suitable for interior and exterior applications. Invisible Sealer impregnates the tile and therefore maintains the anti-slip properties of the tile.

Directions:
This product is flammable. Keep away from open flames and sources of ignition.
